Firstly, it's not necessarily the blush or cover up type. It can all be solved by changing the way you apply it. Are you using a cosmetic pad? Try using a good brush, which will work for blush and dry concealer. Of course everyone's skin is different so you really need to experiment. I really recommend Cover Girl, the products can really work for anyone at any age. I have the Mineral Brush, it works great for my bronzer and cover up. Unlike other brushes, it doesn't loose hair all over you and spreads the make up perfectly. You can pick it up at Wal Mart, a local drug store or even order online. For blush go for Tru Blend Mineral, also in bronzer. Inexpensive and I can guarentee it will leave you glowing like no other.

Brand-Nars color-Orgasm...get it on Sephora.com....it's a pinky color w/ a gold kind of shimmer-it also comes in a duo w/ a bronzer that is really pretty and natural also....

try chimare mineral makeup. their blushes give you a hint of colour and a glow without looking like your wearing anything- i absolutely love them!

its not blotchy or fake looking. it is natural and beautiful. it will also last you all day and give you healthier skin so that you look beautiful no matter what. if you have an uneven skin tone it will even it out for you.
practice, practice, practice. it's all about how you put it on and how well you can do it. just experiment with colors you like, and don't put too much on. get a good brush if you use the powder compact kind, but idk about cream blush. look for a brush that hugs your cheekbones and use whatever product you want, though i really recommend clinique iced lotus

bare minerals warmth - apply it lightly to the apples of your cheeks in a swirly motion. AMAZING for pale skin!
I dont think it's just a matter of brand, but how much you actually put on. Same goes for fake tan, i see some girls who use a whole bottle and look like oompa loompas, and then there are some who actually know how to use it and they look natural.
